Jonathan's sudden arrival startles Caroline pretty thoroughly, but she's also glad to see him. And then he's petting her hair and trying to calm her down, which is... not really what one would expect from the Scarecrow. She's just relaxing a little when she sees Eddie getting up out of his chair.

"Eddie, don't leave," she says, reaching across the table for him. She's a little too slow to actually be able to grab his arm or at least his sleeve. She glances over at Jonathan.

"Where are you going, Edward?" Crane asks, still stroking Caroline's hair.
